Amazon Changes Data Center NDA Policy

Amazon Web Services says it will no longer use nondisclosure agreements with government agencies involved in its data center projects.
AWS CEO Matt Garman announced the policy change in a LinkedIn post, saying the company will instead emphasize open houses and public information about project designs.
The announcement follows controversy in South Bend over city employees signing NDAs connected to the Amazon data center project near New Carlisle.
Mayor James Mueller later signed an executive order barring city representatives and employees from signing NDAs tied to data center projects.
Amazon also says it plans to invest more than one-billion dollars over five years in community education, job training, energy affordability and local priorities.
