A man is recovering after being trapped about 10 feet underground in Penn Township. Firefighters say the man was pinned by soil from his knees down.

Because of the depth and difficulty of the rescue, the MABAS 201 Technical Rescue Team was called in with specialized equipment and additional personnel.

Crews were able to free the man, who was taken to a hospital for evaluation and treatment.

His condition has not been released.
