Woman robbed in parking lot at University Park Mall, suspect arrested

A man has been arrested after police say he robbed a woman at gunpoint in the parking lot at University Park Mall.

Police were sent to the mall lot near Barnes and Noble on Monday, July 4 after the victim reported the alleged robbery, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

The victim told police the suspect, Ronnie Lavone Fly, put a handgun into the driver side window of her car as she was sitting in her car with her 11-month-old son sleeping in the back seat, ABC 57 reported.

Fly ordered her to give him her purse, phone, and car keys, according to police.

Fly took off on foot and the victim she went into the mall to contact police.

Fly initially denied being at the mall during the time of the robbery, but later admitted to the crime, ABC 57 reported.
