A Mexican restaurant in South Bend that only recently celebrated its grand opening will be opening…again.

St. Joseph County Health Department officials gave the green light Monday for Fiesta Cancun to re-open, according to the South Bend Tribune.

Health officials couldn’t definitively say the restaurant caused people to get sick earlier this month. However, a $250 fine was imposed because of evidence that was found of poor food handling.

It’s also noted by health officials that the restaurant was pro-active in making the changes. For instance, there’s a new food prep area, a new food warming oven, replacing a handwashing sink, and deciding to throw out food not served at the end of the day, according to the South Bend Tribune.

The restaurant will be on six months probation and will be subject to monthly inspections.

Fiesta Cancun is planning on re-opening for lunch on Tuesday.
