Elderly woman dies in Berrien Springs crash

One person is dead and four others were hurt in a crash south of Berrien Springs Sunday.

The crash happened at about 6:20 p.m. Sunday on U.S. 31 about a half-mile south of Lake Chapin Rd., according to the South Bend Tribune.

The vehicle went off the side of the road and flipped multiple times, according to Michigan State Police.

An elderly woman in the hospital was pronounced dead at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. Four others were also hospitalized.

The crash is still under investigation.
