ISUB’s Civil Rights Heritage Center hosting “People’s Inauguration” Friday

An event in South Bend will mark the Inauguration of President-Elect Donald Trump Friday in their own way.

 

The People’s Inauguration: Voices for Justice and Inclusion” is the result of a coalition of community organizers in South Bend. Their goal is to show a renewed commitment to social change in the community, according to a press release.

The event begins Friday with a press conference at noon at the Civil Rights Heritage Center on West Washington Street in South Bend. Speakers for justice, inclusion and community engagement will address attendees starting at 4 p.m. at the Islamic Society of Michiana on East Hepler Street.

And an Inaugural Ball begins at 7 p.m. at the Heritage Center. The public is invited and encouraged to join the discussions of social change throughout the day.
