A Mishawaka woman is facing 40 years in prison after being charged with attempted murder.

Formal charges for 59-year-old Annette Beadle were handed down by the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office Thursday.

Her charge of Attempted Murder is a Level 1 felony, which carries a maximum 40 year prison term. Her bond is set at $100,000.

She’s accused of badly beating her elderly mother Tuesday afternoon at a home on the 400 block of West 6th Street in Mishawaka. Metro Homicide offers were initially called because the beating was so bad, it was nearly fatal.

The 85-year-old victim remains in critical condition at a local hospital.
