LaGrange County mother accused of driving drunk, crashing car with kids in it

A mother in LaGrange County faces charges after allegedly driving drunk with her children in the car.

27-year-old Jessica Lynn Herendeen crashed her vehicle Friday with her three children in the backseat, after she drifted over the center line and ran off the road, according to the Goshen News.

She then struck a large rock head-on and her airbags were deployed. Her children were uninjured but she was taken to the hospital with facial injuries, where she was found to have a BAC of 0.14.

Herendeen faces felony charges of driving under the influence with passengers under the age of 18, a Level 6 felony, three counts of neglect of a dependent, a Level 6 felony, and a misdemeanor count of reckless driving.
