Search for suspect underway after shooting death of Benton Harbor man

A 21-year-old man was shot to death in Benton Harbor.

Officers from the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety were called to River Terrace Apartments just before 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, where they found the victim with an apparent gunshot wound.

The Benton Harbor man was taken to Lakeland Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim’s identification is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Officers are following several leads and have questioned several people.

The investigation is being conducted by the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety with assistance from the Michigan State Police Major Crimes Unit, FBI and Berrien County Sheriff’s Department.
