Three area counties have among the lowest unemployment figures in Indiana

Three of the top seven counties for lowest unemployment in Indiana are in our area.

The latest numbers released by the state Department of Workforce Development show LaGrange County tied with Adams County at 2 percent unemployment for the month of June. That’s followed closely by Elkhart County at 2.1 percent and Kosciusko County at 2.2 pecent.

Marshall County wasn’t far behind either at 2.3 percent. St. Joseph County was ranked at about the middle of all Indiana counties at 2.7 percent. LaPorte County was tied for seventh-worst at 3.5 percent.
