A woman accused of helping murder her ex-boyfriend is no longer facing murder charges.

40-year-old Augusta Hadden had been accused of throwing her cellphone out of a pickup truck as she and Edward Blackburn drove off from the murder scene in March.

The Pilot News reports the charge of Assisting a Criminal was dropped because prosecutors couldn’t prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she merited the charge. It was a Level 5 felony that carried a maximum of six years in prison.

Blackburn was arrested on Saturday afternoon, March 4, at the Spring Hill Suites hotel on Edison Lakes Parkway in Mishawaka.

Cord Colgrove, 35, was found shot and killed at a home in the 1400 block of W. 400 S. near North Judson in early March. Blackburn allegedly pulled the trigger and shot Colegrave in the face.

Hadden was with Blackburn at the Mishawaka hotel and was also taken into custody.
