A Notre Dame employee is facing incest and sexual misconduct charges.

52-year-old Jose Cortes is charged with two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor and a count of incest. He’s facing up to 36 years in prison if he’s convicted on all three Level 4 felonies.

Court documents say a child under the age of 16 stepped forward and said she was being touched by Cortes in inappropriate areas. Cortes reportedly admitted he’d been doing that for about six months.

The South Bend Tribune reports he’s been placed on leave as the manager of a Notre Dame dining hall.

He’s held at St. Joseph County Jail on $10,000 bond.
