The University of Notre Dame has admitted a total of 3,586 students to the Class of 2022.

That’s from a record-setting 20,370 applications, the first time the school has ever received more than 20,000 applicants.

It’s a four percent increase in applications, with around 23-percent of them being children of alumni. All 50 states and 80 countries are represented in this Freshman class.

The University says about a third of the students are considered to be at the very top of their class, representing an 18-percent increase in what the school calls “highest-quality applicants.”
