A 73-year-old man in Vandalia died when two trees fell on top of him.

Emergency crews were called around noon on Tuesday to the 58000 block of White Temple Road in Penn Township in Cass County where they found Robert Wright suffering extreme injuries.

Investigators say Robert Wright was cutting a tree down when it fell into another tree which uprooted itself.

The two trees struck Wright. Emergency personnel extracted him from the downed trees and began medical treatment, but his injuries proved to be fatal.
