For the second time in as many years, the Riley High School boys basketball team will be looking for a new head coach.

After leading the Wildcats to a 26-1 record and a semistate appearance this past season, Eric Brand is taking his talents to the Indianapolis area. Brand will be coaching Southport High School, located in the south side of Indianapolis.

The South Bend Tribune reports the former Bethel College standout is making the move to be closer to family.

This now means two of South Bend’s four high schools has a boys basketball head coaching vacancy. Three of them are also looking for a girls head coach.

Riley assistant coach George Jones has been named the interim head coach.
