An early morning pursuit that crossed into two counties and ultimately ended with two people arrested.

An Indiana State Police trooper was patrolling westbound on County Road 900 North just before 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 3 in Kosciusko County. As he was approaching State Road 13, a vehicle turned onto County Road 900 North. The vehicle crossed the center line and almost struck Price’s fully marked police car, according to a news release from Indiana State Police.

The trooper caught up to the vehicle as it entered a driveway in the 7000 block of County Road 900 North. The trooper turned on his emergency lights but the vehicle failed to stop. The vehicle then drove through the yard in an attempt to get away. While doing this the driver threw something out of the driver side window which was later located and contained suspected methamphetamine, the news release stated.

The Mitsubishi continued to flee eastbound on County Road 900 North. The pursuit continued across county roads around the south side of Lake Wawasee, entered Noble County and ended near the intersection of Long Lake Road and County Road 300 North after the driver crashed into a wooden fence, the news release stated.

The driver, Timothy Criswell, 36, of Wolcottville, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a syringe, possession of paraphernalia, obstruction of justice, resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, reckless driving, and operating while intoxicated. Criswell was also arrested for three outstanding warrants from LaGrange County and two warrants from Noble County.

A passenger, Brandi Sowers, 20, of Elkhart, was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Goshen Police Department.
