BB gun causes brief scare at Goshen High School

A false alarm at Goshen High School happened Thursday.

Goshen Community Schools and the Goshen Police Department says a parent called police after seeing what looked to be a handgun.

The 18-year-old student from Fairfield High School was hanging out with friends at the Goshen High School Parking lot at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday. School officials say he showed off a handgun to his friends, causing a nearby parent to call 911.

The school resource officer caught up to the students and soon discovered the gun was actually a BB gun.

Goshen High School was put on lockdown as a precaution. No one has been charged with any crime.
