History was made on Saturday, Oct. 20, as country music superstar Garth Brooks became first musician to perform a full concert at Notre Dame Stadium.
The live event, which will also be televised by CBS on Sunday, Dec. 2, was preceded by a ticketed tailgate event hosted by Brooks’ wife, Trisha Yearwood.
With an estimated 85,000 people attending the in-the-round concert, the event has been called the biggest to ever take place in the stadium.
The windy, rainy and sometimes snowy weather on Saturday failed to dampen the spirits of most fans.
At the end of the concert, Brooks surprised the crowd telling the tens of thousands he’d end the tour just how it started, at Notre Dame.

Brooks, who is known for hits such as “Friends in Low Places,” wrapped up a major three-year tour last year.
