Benton Township home damaged by gunfire

A home in Benton Township was damaged by gunfire Sunday night.

Police are investigating after the shots were fired into a home in the 100 block of Cardelle around 10:30 p.m. Sunday. A resident of the house says he was walking out of his kitchen when he heard the shots.

Several shell casings were found near the property and the front wall of the house had gunshot damage. Witnesses told police that a dark-colored sedan was seen driving away from the area around the time of the shooting. There were no injuries reported.
