Fowler endorses Mueller for Mayor of South Bend

South Bend’s City Clerk has endorsed a candidate for mayor.

Monday morning, Kareemah Fowler endorsed James Mueller to replace outgoing mayor Pete Buttigieg.

Fowler said the city needs “a mayor that has the experience and the ability to move us forward” during her remarks at the County-City building.

Mayor Buttigieg endorsed Mueller, his former Chief of Staff who later became Director of South Bend’s Department of Community Investment, in February.

They were students together at St. Joseph High School. Mueller is also a graduate of Notre Dame.
