Charges dropped in Flint Water Case in light of new evidence, desire to restart process

There was a new development Thursday in the court cases attached to the Flint Water Crisis.

All criminal charges have now been dropped against eight people who were named in the cases. The Flint Water Prosecution Team has decided to drop the cases without prejudice, in order to start the investigation all over again.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel said she trusts the people she appointed to lead the Flint criminal cases, and if they feel this step is necessary for them to do a comprehensive and complete job on the investigation, then she supports the decision.

Nessel also wanted to remind the people of of Flint that “justice delayed is not always justice denied” and the work continues to hold the responsible parties accountable.
