Area students get scholarships from Burger King

Burger King has awarded several local students with scholarships.

The students, who also work at area Burger King restaurants, are the latest area winners of more than $3.1 million in scholarships the company has awarded over the past decade.

A number of $1,000 awards were given to students from a number of area schools, and a $5,000 scholarship was awarded to Jennifer Martinez of Northwood High School.
