A mistrial has been declared for the sixth suspect in a fatal shooting in St. Joseph County.

The judge declared the mistrial on June 12th for the final defendant in the case of a drug-related shootout in August 2017.

Damon Bethel and Anton James were killed at a house on Fredrickson Street in the shooting. Benito Pedraza was charged with three counts of murder and one count of attempted robbery.

The court was informed that one of the jurors wrote a note stating that he had looked into the case online the night before the trial was expected to begin.

The trial has been rescheduled for August 19.
