Woman rescued from Dowagiac River in Niles Township

A 34-year-old Chicago woman who was tubiung with friends began to struggle in the water and had to be rescued.

It happened around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26, on the Dowagiac River near the Pucker Street Dam in Niles Township.

First responders arrrived to find the woman clinging to the side of the dam.

She was pulled to safety about 25 minutes later.

She was wearing a life-jacket and was not hurt.
