It might sound like an exhibition game idea, but it’s going to count.

The Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees will play a game at the famous “Field Of Dreams” in Dyersville, Iowa next season.

The game is scheduled for August 13th, 2020. The field was the subject of a 1989 Kevin Costner baseball movie, which was added to National Film Registry of the Library of Congress in 2017.

A temporary 8000-seat stadium will be built on the site, and the match-up will be the first major league game ever played in Iowa. It will air nationwide on Fox.
