Portions of Northern Indiana are at risk for drought status.

Despite the abnormal amount of rain the area had in the spring, portions of Elkhart, Marshall, Kosciusko, and Fulton Counties are considered “abnormally dry” according to the U.S. Drought Monitor. In fact, 14 percent of the Hoosier State is experiencing lingering water deficits and dry conditions that are slowing down crop development.

Most of the affected areas are in northern and central Indiana.

The forecast isn’t much help, either, as we’re expecting sunny, dry, and warm conditions for the next five or six days.
