A LaPorte man was killed in a crash during the Labor Day holiday weekend. The collision happened on Saturday, Aug. 31, on State Road 39 near the toll road entrance.

A South Bend woman was driving the SUV when she left the roadway and the vehicle rolled, according to investigators.

She was taken to the hospital with injuries.

Lawrence Homan, 31, who was a passenger in the SUV, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are still investigating factors that led to the crash.
