A Three Oaks high school has cancelled its varsity football season.

River Valley High School cancelled all of its boys’ varsity games, except for the homecoming game, as they don’t have enough players for a regular season.

ABC 57 reports the team started off with 18 players. Last week, players boycotted football practice and as a result, three of them were cut from the team.

The school’s superintendent hopes to get a JV team together to play the homecoming game, which is scheduled for Oct. 18.
