New SBCS Food Vendor to Start Early

Instead of waiting until October, the outside agency they hired to handle the districts food will start immediately. Last week students at several schools reported that they didn’t receive lunch when the cafeteria ran out of food.

Superintendent Dr. Todd Cummings would eventually describe those behind that problem as either incompetent or negligent. South Bend Schools were handling their own food supply, but the board had already hired Chartwells to take over school cafeterias in October, before the problems started.
