BBB: Scammers are more successful when they use ads online

The Better Business Bureau says more than a thousand people reported scams and fraud to the BBB’s ScamTracker website and responded to a survey.

Nearly half of them did not engage with the fraudster, but almost a quarter of them did.

Those who did lost an average of $600. But John Paschall with the BBB says customers are more likely to interact with a scammer if they see it online.
