Two juveniles facing charges for February shooting death

Two people are facing charges for the February shooting death of Ruben Waters.

Waters, 21, was found dead inside a car in an alley behind W. Washington Street in South Bend on February 25.

Two juveniles, both 17, have been arrested in connection to the shooting death.

After a probable cause was found, one juvenile was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 29, and booked into the St. Joseph County Jail. Their hearing is scheduled for Nov. 8.

Another probable cause was found for a second individual, and an arrest warrant was issued. The juvenile is currently in the custody of the Indiana Department of Correction on another matter.

Both juveniles are facing Murder charges with a Firearm Sentencing Enhancement. This could amount to a maximum sentence of 80 years in prison.
