A crash in Van Buren County killed two St. Joseph residents late Monday morning.

Police say it happened just after 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of M-43 and County Road 665.

They believe a tanker truck was headed east on the state highway when it struck an SUV that pulled out into its path. The two occupants of the SUV, a man and woman in their 80s, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
