South Bend man sentenced for felon firearm possession

A South Bend man was sentenced Thursday afternoon for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Officials say 44 year-old Eduardo Ramirez was given 72 months in prison to be followed by 3 years of supervised release.

He was detained after crashing a vehicle while trying to flee from the police, and was found to have a gun on him, and two others in the vehicle. He had also attempted to flee from officers on foot after the crash.
