Multiple drug related arrests in LaPorte County

Law enforcement in LaPorte County has been busy with a couple of drug related arrests

First, LaPorte County sheriff’s deputies assisted in a large drug bust on Tuesday. It happened during a traffic stop on the eastbound Toll Road. Deputy Wade Wallace pulled the vehicle over . Deputy Jon Samuelson and his K-9 partner stopped to help and search the vehicle. “Large quantities” of marijuana were discovered.

The 31 year-old driver, from California, was placed under arrest.

Second, police in Michigan City arrested a man as the result of a drug investigation that lasted several months. 22 year old Marvin Rainey was taken into custody during a warrant search at a home on Van Spanje Ave.

Police say they found cocaine, packing materials, paraphernalia and a gun at the home. His bond is set at $25,000
