Indianapolis doesn’t rank high on the list for the “best state capitals to live in.” At least, that’s according to a recent study by WalletHub.
The study compared all 50 states across 49 key indicators of affordability, economic well-being, quality of education and health, and quality of life.
Indianapolis, Indiana ranked 37th overall. Lansing, Michigan ranked 32nd.
Indiana’s capital didn’t rank well in a few key areas either, placing 44th for highest crime rate and 46th for highest premature death rate.
The top-ranked state capitals include:
- Austin, Texas
- Raleigh, North Carolina
- Madison, Wisconsin
- Denver, Colorado
- Lincoln, Nebraska
The lowest-ranked state capital was Trenton, New Jersey.
