Bald eagle eggs spotted in St. Joseph County nest

(Photo supplied/ND-LEEF)

It’s a sure sign of spring in Michiana: A trio of bald eagle eggs have been spotted in a nest at St. Patrick’s County Park.

The eggs were laid at the Notre Dame Linked Experimental Ecosystem Facility, or ND-LEEF, in a former red-tailed hawk nest. The eagles took over the nest five years ago, which can be seen under that Morrison Family Pavilion.

You can watch the development of the eggs and see them hatch online on their website.
