Notre Dame Athletic Director Jack Swarbrick says he’s not optimistic that College Football will start on time this season.

Swarbrick cites growing concerns over the ongoing pandemic in an interview with ESPN. He says in the past two weeks “it has grown more pessimistic” but says he isn’t at a point yet where the University shouldn’t stop planning for an on-time opening.

He says Notre Dame has tested a total of 252 students, coaches and staff with only a single positive result. He adds the school is shifting it’s allocations a little bit, preparing for potential alternatives to a season starting on time this fall.
