Elkhart County moves into the state’s COVID-19 Red category

Elkhart County now has a 7-day positivity rate of 17.9% with 1,061 weekly cases per 100,000 residents. 311 new cases were reported Wednesday in Elkhart County, along with three new deaths.

A record-setting pace is being set for cases, hospitalizations, and deaths in Elkhart County, and 54 residents have died in the past 30 days.

Health officials are preparing new restrictions that could go into effect later this week. St. Joseph County remains in the orange category, and reported 271 new cases on Wednesday with 5 additional deaths.
