Get ready for a big reconstruction project on the 31 bypass.

An INDOT project will close the ramps at US 31 southbound and Cleveland-Brick Rd starting Wednesday. crews will be reconstructing the southbound lanes between the Michigan State Line and the Toll Road.

It’s the same work that was done on the northbound lanes last year. When they’re ready to close the southbound lanes after an assessment, the northbound lanes will be converted to two-way traffic.

The official detour for the ramp closure will be to continue south on U.S. 31, exit at U.S. 20, and then take U.S. 31 northbound back to Cleveland/Brick Rd.
