Michigan DNR celebrates 100 years

Michigan’s Department of Natural Resources celebrated its 100th anniversary this week.

On March 30 of 1921 the Michigan Department of Conservation was created, which eventually became the DNR.

The Department has had a busy century, conserving the state’s great outdoors and protecting the many species while creating outdoor recreation opportunities for residents and tourists alike.
