A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle Friday morning while standing on the side of the road Friday morning.

Emergency responders were called to Dixon Street in Silver Creek Township shortly after 8 a.m. and found that a vehicle driven by a Dowagiac man had struck the Dowagiac woman.

He was passing another vehicle that was stopped, whose driver had been speaking with the woman who was hit. she was struck by the side mirror.

She was transported for treatment of her injuries and the driver cooperated with the authorities. Alcohol and drugs are not considered factors in the crash.
