Changes expected soon to Michigan’s COVID restrictions

Governor Whitmer is preparing to further ease COVID-19 restrictions in The State of Michigan.

This again moves up her administration’s timetable for reopening more of the state’s economy.

A spokesperson told Bridge Michigan on Wednesday that Whitmer will likely make an announcement this week or next that will likely alter vaccination benchmarks that she set just weeks ago.

A report Wednesday brings Michigan total confirmed cases to more than 879,000, with just under 19,000 deaths in the state since the pandemic began.
