A Berrien Springs man was killed after colliding with a semi in Oronoko Township.

The crash happened just after 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, at East Lemon Creek Road and Lauer Road.

Investigators say the eastbound motorcycle, operated by Robert Allen Lucas, 41, struck the semi at the intersection.

The semi was westbound and turning south onto Lauer Road at the time.

Lucas was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. The semi driver was not hurt.

The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Team is still looking into the circumstances of the crash.

That crash happened just a few hours after a Goshen man slammed into the back of a semi at County Road 17 and County Road 38 in Elkhart County.

27-year-old Dallas Yoder of Goshen died after being taken to a Fort Wayne hospital for treatment.
