Indiana Michigan Power has sent 300 employees and contractors to Connecticut to help in the wake of Tropical Storm Henri.

Crews will help with power restoration efforts once the weather the storm has cleared and it’s safe to do so.

Employees and contractors from across I&M’s service territory, including the South Bend/Elkhart area and Southwest Michigan hit the road on Saturday, Aug. 21.

I&M says even though crews have been deployed to assist with the storm, the company is ready and prepared to respond if outages occur here at home.

I&M operates through mutual assistance agreements with utilities across the nation to help, just as other utilities traveled to Michiana to aid with power restoration after severe storms hit this area two weeks ago.
