Mueller to highlight South Bend brick street repair

Mayor James Mueller will hold a press event to highlight the repair of brick streets in some of the city’s older historic neighborhoods.

The event will be held Wednesday, August 25 at 11:00 a.m. at the intersection of Napier and Laurel streets.

This type of repair and maintenance work includes removing and replacing areas of brick to level sections of the street that have settled over time.

Five streets are scheduled to get brick spot repair as part of the City’s Rebuilding Our Streets initiative:

  • Jefferson Boulevard from Chapin to Scott streets.
  • Laurel Street from Western Avenue to Jefferson Boulevard.
  • Maple Street from Thomas to Washington streets.
  • Pine Street from Western Avenue to Napier Street.
  • Wayne Street from Chapin to Scott streets.
