Niles fugitive standoff ends peacefully

A standoff with a fugitive Tuesday in Niles ended peacefully.

The Michigan State Police Fugitive Team was serving a pair of felony warrants to Thomas Person, who was wanted in Berrien and Van Buren County.

They say him run inside of a home on 7th St. and he was considered armed and dangerous. He is not a resident of the house in question.

A few hours after the standoff began, he surrendered without incident.
