A Michigan man has been arrested on charges of causing a death in a four-vehicle crash in Elkhart.

The collision happened in October of 2019 on County Road 17, south of State Road 120 when investigators say Paul Throesch, Jr. turned in front of a box truck, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.

The impact then pushed it into SUV driven by 59-year-old Vincent Spirito of Elkhart.

His SUV was then hit by another.

The drivers of two other vehicles and a passenger suffered injuries, while Throesch, himself, sustained limb fractures and facial cuts.

Spirito died at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

During his initial hearing, last week, a not-guilty plea was entered on his behalf and a trial date was set for March.
