A Fishers man who was convicted of a 2017 bank robbery in Elkhart was sentenced to 16-years.

27-year-old Tevin Attkisson, disguised as a woman, robbed the Key Bank Branch on South Main Street.

The man handed a note to the bank teller stating he had a gun. The Elkhart Truth reports witnesses say Attkisson was wearing a long black wig, hat, pair of gloves and sunglasses.

Several weeks later, police were called to another Elkhart bank in which a man was dressed in drag attempted to get in, but was locked out by employees.

The man was Attkisson, who officers found with a duffle bag that had a change of clothes inside. In addition to a large black purse, a pair of gloves and sunglasses, police found enough evidence to arrest Attkisson.
