Students in Indiana can go back to school after five days if they test positive for COVID, providing they wear a mask for five more days.

The new guidelines were issued Monday by the Indiana Dept. of Health, and are in line with CDC guidelines that came down last week.

“The CDC states that positive individuals that do not have symptoms or whose symptoms are resolving can leave isolation after five days, so long as they continue to mask for five additional days to reduce their chance of infecting others,” said state health commissioner Dr. Kris Box, at last week’s briefing on COVID-19.

If the students cannot wear a mask they will have to stay home for 10 days.

That policy is the same for schools with and without masks mandates.
