Elkhart man pulled over for cellphone infraction arrested on drug-related charges

An Elkhart man who was stopped for using a cellphone while driving ended up arrested on multiple drug-related charges.

Clarence Davis, 50, was stopped after an officer saw him using the cell phone and making a lane change without his signal in the 300 block of West Garfield Avenue, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.

Police spotted a gun, reported stolen out of Mishawaka in the backseat.

A K9 sniff-search of the vehicle turned up crack cocaine, meth, marijuana and prescription pills.

They say they also found digital scales, a loaded handgun magazine, glass pipes and more than $3,200.
